Carlos Irwin Estévez, better known as Charlie Sheen - His career included comedic films, such as Major League, the Hot Shots! films, and Scary Movie 3 and 4. On television, Sheen is known for his roles on two sitcoms: as Charlie Crawford on Spin City, and as Charlie Harper on Two and a Half Men. He won an ALMA Award, gained three Emmy Award nominations, and two Golden Globe award nominations for his role in the sitcom Two and a Half Men.
Earlier today, Sheen pleaded not guilty in an Aspen, Colorado courtroom to three counts related to an alleged domestic violence incident involving his wife Brooke Mueller on Christmas Day. After calling 911, Mueller said Sheen put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.
Sheen was arrested on Dec. 25. He was charged with menacing, criminal mischief and assault. Menacing, the most serious charge, carries a possible sentence of one to three years in prison.
Richard Cummins, Sheen's lawyer - entered the not guilty plea. A three-day trial is set to begin on July 21.
Sheen denied threatening his wife with a knife or choking her. There are also reports that Sheen has hired criminal defense lawyer Steve Cochran, who has worked on several high profile cases, including representing the late Michael Jackson.
Brooke Sheen's attorney - Yale Galanter, said it was too soon to say whether she would take the stand if the case goes to trial. Galanter declined to comment on the possibility of a plea deal but said Brooke Sheen still wants the charges against her husband dropped.
